about summer

Thanks for all of the responses on my previous post. For some reason I always felt a bit alone in my dislike for summer clothing and assumed that people love to dress for summer. Luckily the weather is even more fickle than usual, going from a sunny 26 degrees celsius to a rainy 15 degrees in a matter of a single day last week. So that leaves me some extra time to contemplate my upcoming purchases (above one of my most recent non-fashion related purchases, a photograph by artist Rory Pilgrim). Another thing to think about is how I’m going to spend my summer holiday. As of now I still have seven weeks of vacation days left until the end of the year so I might as well take three weeks off in July. Let me know if you have any good suggestions for short city trips around Europe.

And speaking of summer, I can’t stop the feeling that JT’s new song is going to be my summer jam. I don’t care that some people call it a poor man’s Happy. I will be dancing in my living room while haters stay pressed. Have a great weekend!

jessica-update

I can’t believe it’s already February. Time really does fly by. You probably noticed that I didn’t update this blog on a regular basis the last few weeks, so I thought I’d make this post a little more personal to make up for it. I never had the intention to show my face on my blog, because most of the time I look horrible in pictures (don’t we all though). But then again, it’s kinda hard to relate to someone through a computerscreen when you have no idea what that person looks like. So yeah, now you do!

Why haven’t I been blogging? Work was extremely busy for a while. Which is usually the case when an exhibition is about to end or open. I’ve also been focussing a little more on my health, eating better and I have started to exercise again with my amazon yoga ball. All while trying to keep up with the latest gossip (Rihanna and Leonardo DiCaprio, really??). But now that I have a little more time on my hands, I’m definitely picking up where I left off, blogging-wise.

I’ve been working on a post on how to start the 5 piece French wardrobe which I need to shorten a little bit before I post it (got a little carried away for a moment). And since I’m done with my fall/winter purchases, I’ve started a new list for spring/summer which can be found here and consists of way too many black items, oops! But I’m sure that will change once I start browsing my favourite online stores.

What have you been up to? Any exciting purchases or experiences you would like to share?

5-thoughts

Since it’s a rather depressing Monday, I thought I’d cheer you up with some random thoughts on blogging that popped into my mind while scrolling through a list of blogs on Bloglovin’ on my way home from work. Enjoy!

* All white interiors. Because you don’t need a place to actually live in. Are you even allowed to touch anything? I do need that marble tray though.

* Full-time bloggers posting how busy they’ve been and didn’t have the time to write a new blog post. Busy with store openings, press days and taking Instagram pictures of their lunch. You should have written me a blog post so I could at least forget about this guy leaning against me on the train for just one minute.

* Fitness blogs. I hate them. Because I’m too lazy to go to the gym. I don’t have to be reminded of that.

* Food blogs. I hate them. Because I’m too lazy to go to the gym. I don’t have to be reminded of that.

* Ending on a positive note though. It’s really impressive how much time people invest in their blogs, even turning them into a small business. I can’t even manage to post once a week, let alone every day. Especially now, when it’s dark before I get home and it’s extremely busy at work. I should probably start working on my planning skills.

So how was your Monday?

music-playlist

I created this little playlist to listen to on my way to work, but it’s great on a lazy Sunday evening as well. Although I listen to music ranging from 80’s punk music to Ariana Grande’s latest song (no shame whatsoever), 90’s hip hop will always have my heart. So this playlist contains 10 of my favorite mellow hip hop tracks. Enjoy!
