Oops! I already bought two new basics for this season. A new oversized cashmere sweater by Zara and a pair of pointed chelsea boots, which are quite similar to Acne’s Jensen boots. I contemplated those Acne boots for a short while but ultimately decided to pass on them because of their hefty price tag and my current sushi addiction. If these Zara boots end up on my feet every single day, I may have to rethink that decision though, but for now I’m happy with these. The sweater feels amazingly soft and will surely become a wardrobe staple. I love the oversized slouchy fit and the slightly longer back. Unfortunately it’s no longer available in blue, but you can still get yourself a pretty red or cream jumper here. I think that covers my basics for the season. I might have to replace my black highwaisted jeans but other than that, I’m good to go.

Fall is here people! And I couldn’t be more excited. Now I finally get to wear my H&M Trend cardigan that I bought two months ago and which hasn’t seen the light of day until now. It’s much more fun for me to get dressed in the morning when it’s fall or winter. Probably because my summer uniform consists out of a pair of jeans and a simple t-shirt. Being able to wear different layers definitely makes getting dressed more exciting.

zara-hm-cashmereFour relatively affordable cashmere sweaters for those looking to stay warm during fall. Now I know that when it comes to cashmere, you usually get what you pay for. The quality of cashmere depends on the thickness and length of the fibers. The longer the fiber, the better the quality but also the more expensive. But let’s be honest, not everyone can or wants to pay €400 for a sweater. And although I don’t mind investing some money in quality basics, I personally have some really good experiences with cashmere from Weekday and Zara. I’ve had both sweaters for over a year and they still look great. Now we only have to wait for temperatures to drop!

We’ve probably all been there, standing in a perfumery or a department store, walls covered with pretty bottles, not knowing where to start. I know I always felt a little lost (and still do). So I usually chose the easy way out and opted for the it-scent of the moment; Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue, DKNY Delicious, you name it. I liked the smell of course, I’m not that easy, c’mon! But they never stuck. Most scents give me a headache after a few hours and I also didn’t like the fact that I knew at least three other girls who wore the same fragrance as me (I’m such a diva. I wish you could see my Mariah hand movements. Spot on!).

Now I’m not someone who wears a different scent every day or who has a perfume for different occasions. I prefer to stick to one option until the bottle is empty. I tried to find my signature scent. You know, that scent by which you are able to recognize someone when they walk into a room. It took me a while, but I have finally found mine: Molecule 01 by Escentric Molecules. I’ve been wearing it for several years and still love it. It’s the most subtle and unusual scent that slowly develops on your skin. You can hardly smell it yourself, but the people around you can. It’s amazing, it disappears and reappears throughout the day and it’s lasting power is incredible. I’ve received so many compliments, even from people I hardly know. I bought my third bottle last week.

Are you a one-scent woman or do you like to keep your options open? What are your favorite scent(s)?
